need some help with service engine light and truck

Ok so I need a little help. Heres the background. we have a 2003 HD f150 with just a hair over 70,000 miles its pure stock except for a k&n drop in. Check engine came on last saturday and I pulled the codes with my sct tuner for my mustang and it read p0171 and p0100 or something like that. I do know that it is emissions system not ready and bank 1 running lean. cleared the code thinking the maf was dirty. Cleaned it with maf cleaner and cleared the light. Tonight it came back on. I cleared the code and just in idle the code came back on. Also on a side note the tranny is shifting really hard now. Dont know if its a coincedence or not. I need to have the truck fixed and running right by 5am for work or it looks like im walking 7 miles to work. Please help I dont know whats causing it or how to get rid of it.

Hello, I have the exact same issue. 45K on an '03 with only a K& N filter. I had the oil changed and then I cleaned and re-oiled the K&N filter. 3 starts later Error Codes. I cleaned MAF with CNC MAF Cleaner and still have code. disconnected battery to reset CM, code returned. don't know what to do now. saw all kinds of reports on K&N site saying their oil will not cause MAF failure/error codes. Just don't know where to turn now.

Double check all vacume hoses you were around. 90 percent of bank lean codes are from a hose that's popped off or freyed. Check around back of blower and around airfilter tube where you were workin.

You may need to re-phrase your first post as I'm having difficulty interpreting what you mean. Do you want the back end to be a different shape or do you just want to be able to spin out in it?

My bet is when you went to clean the MAF you did not get it plugged in all the way or a dirty recepticle....I had mine unplugged one time and it caused the tranny to act just like you stated Best way to check for a vac leak is to spray down the hose with carb cleaner...if you hear a stumble there is the leak
