If he wanted or would do like 8-9 grand I would do it. Nothin more. There are too many clean 00 trucks out there for less. That's just me. You can always pop a twin screw on a 00-01 and call it a day. Ask Josh..

Yeah that's a thought. I will need a crew so it would have to be at least an '01. I think if he gave me a couple thousand with it that wouldn't be too bad of a deal.... we'll see. I have another '03 I'm looking at with lows 70's but not sure how much they want yet.
What's it cost to put a SC on a '01?
If you do a sc conversion do it right. Do the intercooler and all. You can do an Eaton set up for under 2 grand. Depending on your finances and such, do it big with a twin screw. Josh, (Harley356) is the man to pm about doin it. He's done it a few times and I'm sure he would shoot you any info you need

Salvage title- if you can confirm no hidden damage/fixes and plan on keeping (assuming you get it for a good price) no problem.
550 HP with bolt on's? I've got an 02 w/bolt on's and a tune. Bolt on's are 6 lb pully and headers/exhaust. On the dyno 370 and that's with a conservative tune. anything more without a built motor is asking for trouble. and it's pretty quick enough as it is. Even state of Va. says it's quick
I guess educate me on this. How much power does a tune give you? I would just assume pulleys and exhaust might be worth, what 20-40?? I don't believe it has headers.
Ok, I have a 6 lb lower and Lightning upper pully, jlp intake and full bassani exhaust. Of course with that comes ngk plugs and I also have a polished throttle body with a dual pass heat exchanger and a full dyno tune, not a can crap tune. That's mild but with consistant 15.5 boost and it not falling off at all you don't wanna do too much more with a stock block and not join the Okie vented block club... I put out 397rwhp and 512rwt and had perfect 12.0 afr's. I don't know everything about the trucks but I will say comfortably and I'm sure others will co-sign for me when I say, if that truck has 550rwhp it doesn't have a stock block. Dude 550rwhp is up there with some big dog lightnings.

stock on the 02 and think same for 03 is about 330. I added the 6lb pulley, AF -1 intake and new exhaust which required the tune. so I gained about 40 HP. Woke it up and made it real quick.
The one truck, other than mine, that I really know about is Oki916's. He has a built motor, not bolt ons, and he's putting out big HP so when he said he'd call BS on the 550 he knows
Wow didn't know how much was involved, something definitely doesn't ad up then or he is just misinformed.... so are these trucks stock 330 rwhp or crank? Really appreciate your guys' help.

Ford advertised 02-03's as having 340 HP (flywheel) and torque of 425 lbs.ft. @ 3,250 rpm. So he's either ignorant or trying to blow smoke to boost a sale. Neither does anything for his honesty and integrity rating.

Ok, funny timing on this story. My parents hit a deer last week with their Cadillac STS. They were only going 25 mph on icy roads. The damage was superficial, yet extensive. The radiator took a hit, which could mean core support damage, I'm not sure. The damage was to the hood, grille, bumper, both headlights and one fender. The body shop said, if the air bags had gone off, it would have been a total. I see no reason to not fix a car (or truck) with this kind of damage. I've fixed much worse myself. If you've got a professional opinion that there was no frame work done, and the price is right (you are getting a couple thou in trade, right?) I'd do the deal. As far as the mods, maybe he's not a motor head, and is just misinformed.
So how much is he asking...I never saw a price...and just cause you ask something RARELY means you get it. Like other have stated to make 550 it HAS TO BE BUILT...no bolt on's can take you and SUSTAIN at that level. If it is not built,....then i really doubt 550 or even close at the FLYWHEEL. Max for a stock block is around 400-425. As stated above airbags are VERY expensive and since two of them blew that is about 4k just there. If everything else is primo....I would give 8-9K like stated above the title is a killer and anyone selling KNOWS that is a huge hicky and they can not ask full price regardless.
Title definitely blows the deal and he didn't want to give anything for the difference on trade. The best cash price he said was $11,500. No thanks....
Here is one other that I've been looking at. It has a 109k miles and needs a few things, not sure what's up with the tailgate and why the rear console is gone but the price will reflect that I think. I would like to put a third seat in anyway. Not sure about the hood/fender line on the drivers side either. Might be a decent fixer upper. I was hoping to be able to get another Harley SC or non without spending a bunch of money so that is why I'm not looking at 60k miles trucks right now. Maybe I won't be able to find a decent ride for the $9-11k dunno. I have caviar taste on a beer budget right now.
What do you think a good price is on this given it needs some cosmetic stuff? $10k - $11k? Oh and it's about 760 miles away....
