This months winner has been with the NHTOC since 01/24/2010 and has the great honor of winning TOTM a little over 1 year after joining. In that short time frame, his truck has gone from a completely stock DSG to the tastefully modded version she has become. He has accomplished by taking the DSG theme to a completely new level! I do believe that it is truly safe to say that this truck is surely a DSG harley truck.
Hailing from Texas and having to deal with Teenagers at home, this months winner is no stranger to chaos. In fact to qoute him while I am waiting for some info and the questionairre back..."I have been living in utter chaos!"...and yes, even though you are reading this write up, I still don't have the questionairre and additional info, so I think it is safe to say that the chaos is still insuing. Perhaps we should change his screen name from FXSTBF150 to Captain Chaos and his motto to "dun dun DUNNNNNNN!!"...all I got to say is that him and JJ better invite me for a ride! Oh and by the way...I stole a pic of him in costume.
Well, know that the chaos is over, we have our questionairre and answers to enjoy with a few more tit bits of info about our winner. Having to deal with a shattered Tibea and Fibula knocking him down for about 6 months but that didn't keep him from strapping crutches across his back and riding the Harley anyway! No wonder chaos follows him where ever he goes!
Question # 1: What sparked your interests in the Harley trucks?
Specifically your HD Truck?
I always wanted a Supercrew but somehow the wife got the new car. Then about a year and a half ago my supercab F150 50th Anniversary Edition lariat had begun to leak through a hole in the front of the driver side head. I began to look for a Supercrew at that time and since I was a Harley guy it only seemed natural to look for the HD edition. One drive and I knew nothing else would do.
Question # 2: Any interesting stories behind the history of vehicles
you've owned leading up to the HD truck or how you got it?
I have driven a lot of beaters over the years as well as brand new cars and trucks and Jeeps but about 8 years ago I bought a used Pontiac GTP and lightly modded it and began to go to the drag strip.
It was very fun and pretty economical too. I needlessly sold it to finance a trip to Maui during an unemployed period and always regretted it. I missed the whine of the Eaton and 0-60 in 6 seconds!
Question # 3: Give me a rough list of the mods that have been done to your truck. I know you've got a lot done, so you can just list your favorites if you'd like!
I powder coated the 22" Boss 335's,AEWM Brute force intake with self fabricated ram air into bottom of stock air box, Metco idler bracket, Magnum Powers SC w/ Cobra rotors, C&L Plenum, SBTB from LFP, CX Racing brushless IC pump, OBX catback, SCT XCAL 3, Lightning spec Bilsteins, 2" drop shackles, clunk washers, LFP steering stabilizer, JLP Long bars, Comp Engineering driveshaft loop, Rotor pros, and Mickey Thompson ET streets for track use.
Question # 4: Tell us a little about yourself. Your other hobbies, your job, your favorite past time, whatever!
I am a busy man with two teenagers and that give me plenty to do when I am not at work as a critical power electrician for AT&T.
Lately we have been going to a lot of car shows and drag races and I am hoping to hit some drag boat races this season too. Whenever possible, I like to hop on my 2007 Harley Night Train and ride aimlessly to clear my head.
Question # 5: You've been a member on the site for a while now, what is one of the best things you like about the site that keeps you around?
The knowledge shared by those who have "been there, done that" and their willingness to help another member out. I also like to see what Tweek is gonna do next (Sean, put that beer down)!Lol
Question # 6: What is one suggestion to help make the site a better place?
I don't know that I would recommend changing anything due to my own ignorance regarding computer use keeping me from utilizing the site to its fullest extent as it is.
Question # 7:
This is where I normally ask about where you decided on your screen name and any specific reason for choosing it?
My Harley is a Night Train and its model name is FXSTB so I added F150 for obvious reasons.
Question # 8: Almost at the end, what is in the future for your truck?, so what’s the next plan of attack for your trucks future?!
In the near future I plan to put on the 4# lower pulley and BA 2400 MAF that I have in my tool chest at the moment and take the truck to PSI near Houston and get some good tunes installed. I would like to lower each corner as much as possible and I plan to separate the Lightning tail lights and paint them DSG and maybe do something similar to the headlights and corners. I am considering putting flame graphics back on too.
Question 9: Last and final question, just an open end question for if you had anything else you wanted to mention that I didn't have a question for...here's the place to go at it! Your web site link, a plug for something, etc. etc. whatever you want to throw in!
Although I have no websites, anything to plug or self promote, I would like to say that life is too short to dwell on negativity. If you don't like something, change it and take the necessary steps to become happy. Take time to lend a helping hand to family, friends, and strangers in need. Take a little time each day to laugh because it will cure what ails you and above all else make time to spend with your kids and teach them the truly important things in life, give them unconditional love since it is hard to be a kid and they need all the help they can get. They are your living legacy so be true to them.
A little late, but better than never we congratulate our next winner in the epic story of TOTM and with that being said; let me be the first to congratulate our March 2011 TOTM winner, Steve “FXSTBF150” Blanton and his 2002 DSG HD "Barnabus" #2788.
