Is the fuel filter clogging up a common issue on these trucks? Im considering an 01 HD as a daily / drag hauler
It's not a common issue. Typically people don't all the maintenance and it gets over looked.

I've never heard of one "clogging up".
Changing the fuel filter is regular maintenance on every car I've ever owned. Much like changing the air filter, oil filter, or transmission filter.
Having clean, consistent fuel quality and flow is important on modded supercharged engines, especially ones like most of us own here that are making double or more than the factory boost. I wouldn't imagine the fuel filter being very important to change as often on a stock non-supercharged 01.

Lol I'm guilty. I've owned my truck a little over a year and haven't changed my filter not once.
Aghhh!! just changed mine put the smaller one on
doesn't matter, the filter needs to be changed, bigger one or not, on a regular schedule. So long as you change it often you're good!
Yeah I didnt even feel it was worth the time to hunt for a bracket. Stock foe life!
Remove the small bracket and zip tie the larger filter in place.
