Laugh Farewell to the NHTOC from 2002BlacknBlue

The time has come to say goodbye. I recently traded in my truck on a 2011 Supercrew Lariat with the Ecoboost engine. Other than going from 12mpg on hitest to 25 mpg on regular, woo hoo, with a twin turbo engine, I had problems with the engine I had built not once but twice. My words of advice are to stay away from Patriot heads and Matt Kesatie of Kesatie Motorsports in Sarasota. The heads on my built engine had the valve guides go bad after about 3000 miles. A new engine was built as that one was trashed when the oil ran out the exhaust. The new engine build started burning half a quart of oil every tank of gas after 600 miles. In the 6 months it took to build the engine, my custom paint got ruined on the hood and front cap. Matt admitted the damage and agreed to pay for the paint repair. After three months of bs and promises he agreed to pay a local paint shop to do the repair. Two months later the paint shop is still trying to catch the bouncing rubber check. I just got fed up and decided it was time to move on.

I had my truck for 8 years and had a lot of good times with it and with you guys off and on. The NHTOC has been a good friend and I will miss the advice and support. Keep up the good work. BTW, I will be selling some things in a slow trickle at the usual sites. LightningRodder seems to get the most activity.
    Take Care.

Stick around anyway! In addition to the nice avatar (.)(.), I'm interested in hearing some real world experience with EcoBoost. Things are getting interesting in the car world again!

I'll stop in once in a while to see how everyone is doing. I am loving the new ride though. Good power, super quiet and 19 mpg so far. Another cool thing to go with the remote start is the air conditioning in the front seats. Only 1300 miles on it yet.
