    Care of New Paint

I did a quick search but I couldn't find anything on this subject.

How long should you wait before applying wax or using a speed detailer on new clearcoat?

Talked to a friend of mine and he say's one month before any wax. Paint needs to expend gases so it cures properly.

Jon, Just picked up truck today from paint shop. Less than stellar work. I want you to take a look at it when I return your spare tire key. Maybe you can do something. Pics coming on the 2000-2003 section.

Less than stellar sounds pretty sucky. Hope it's not terminally sucky.

Depends on what you consider terminal. Some comical, some unexpected some just plain ridiculous
    1. There is a scuff in the side of the rear console cover that wasn't there before (unexpected).
    2. They even got the fob covered in body filler (comical).
    3. Dirty engine compartment that was not pristine but pretty clean (nuisance).
    4. Did my inspection before driving away and noticed that they forgot to replace the driver's side rear plastic inside fender liner. The customer service rep had to take off the rear wheel trim and install it in the parking lot at 5:15 p.m.

They say after a spray that you should wait one month before a car wash or polish.
That is probably much longer than needed but it's a body shop CYA for drying time.
