    New 09 SD

Wow alot of traffic in here. haha

Well gents. I picked up an 09 HD in may. DPF and cat delete, 60k miles, H&S tuner, Intake, roll top tonneau, goose neck hook up and viper alarm. It came with some chrome 20x9 Jessie James Widows and I'm just not digging them. I really leaning towards some 20 x 8.5 rockstars.. yes I know everyone has them, but I just can't find any other wheel i like as much. But the decision is down to chrome, black or machined. Anyone rolling around with one of these for picture and comparison purposes? Other suggestions? It's stock height with some 325 hankook dynapro ATMs. I will level it out eventually, but first things first.

    Congrats on the new toy.
IMHO, I like the machine finish wheels.

    Thumbs up

    Congrats.

Depends on how much of clean freak you are. Chrome is probably easiest to clean. Black, unless powder-coated would probably be painted and tend to flake after awhile. Machined finish is a bit porous and will eventually collect a lot of stains unless sealed properly and that usually flakes off after awhile too.
I know the chrome flakes too but not as easily as some of the other finishes andI think it stands up to time a lot longer. Besides, doesn't chrome and Harley just go together!?

Nice find....post up some more pictures of it and I am sure a photoshop guy could help you out in choosing.

Personally I would like to see more traffic in this section of some bad ars lifted HD's that could compete for TOTM.

Same here, but with the chrome grille and fender vents I'm afraid it'll clash.

The KMC brand seems to hold up well, "seems" like more of a quality wheel as I don't hear complaints nearly as much as other brands. The chrome on My Helo's on my supercrew started pitting after a year, I swore off Chrome, but i'm not a huge fan of black wheels except on black vehicles, but then again, they are a cheap chinese wheel.

Well it won't be lifted much, I'm selling of the lifted SVT powered supercrew because I needed something to pull a gooseneck. But it'll probably get a 2" lift all around soon.

Here are a few shabby ones.
First is the SVT powered Supercrew I built in 04, some of you may have seen. Hate to get rid of it, but with the L and the HD now, just to many toys.

All cell pics, I washed it last Sunday hopeing to take some pics Monday and it rained on the way to work.

Plans are to change up the wheels, replace the running boards with amp steps, and lift it slightly, for now..

Nice. Agree the wheels are not my favorite. The rockstars do look good.

Nice pics...not sure how I feel about those wheels on it. Since they are JJ, you should not have a problem finding a buyer for them.

Nice truck. I would also change the wheels. I love the rock stars, but everybody and their brother have them.

I'm going blind looking through all the wheels to decide. I like the offerings from KMC, FUEL and RBP. I'd really like to find something stockish but slightly different, but there isn't many options for the SD. I'm leaning towards the KMC Diesels... today that is.. haha

$36,500 from an individual. It had 60K when I picked it up, H&S Tuner, DPF/Cat delete with MBRP back single, Roll top tonneau cover, B&W Gooseneck, Viper alarm, and the wheel/tire combo. Just about all I would have done except the wheels. So about $4K in extras that didn't mean anything to the dealership where he was trying to trade it in, but to me, it was worth it. He told me they were going to give him 35,500 trade. I think I made a good deal. The only other HD I found was local, but it was on 08, with the same mileage, with a few more scratches, bone stock and they wanted 37,500.
