    560/593

    After a long few years... my build is finally finished... for now.

    Life happened. Out with the old wife and in with the new wife, new baby boy who loves my truck and a new job. The truck spent more time in the garage, than on the street because I just didn't have the time to work on it like I wanted.

    It's not easy to build an engine. So many little things that make a big difference, but in the long run... the experience was worth it.

    Anyway... finally took it to the dyno to get a nice safe tune and I just missed 600/600.

    I made 560/593 with a Whipple 2.3 on 20's in 95 degree heat.

    Congrats! That's super. I've been through some of those life changes recently too.
    I need to make time for my build and Whipple next. What piston/head/cam combo are you running?

    Way to go man!!! Love to see another 2.3 truck put down some serious numbers the 3.4 guys would be going for.

    How many #'s of boost and what was the timing?

    I reused my stock block and picked up a balanced rotating assembly that included Eagle rods and Livernois moly pistons. I have ported patriot heads and comp cams (mild). Even though the cams keep pushing past 6000rpms, I am thinking about larger cams so I can get the lope.

    17-18psi at 12 degrees timing. I instantly see 15psi and then the Whipple just keeps on giving the entire pull.

    My truck has always pulled hard... but now it will literally jerk your head back from a 30mph drop.

    I am really considering doing an E85 tune. Even more power and safer.

    Stories like yours,make me feel better about the turbo '00,I been chubbin about,since my divorce.I bought a bike,lately,,,,,but THAT "need" is still there.
