this is the one i found, don't like the fact that it leaves a small gap on the bottom of the radia and the bezel, but it worked great, screws on to the radio and clips to the truck..there's no way that radio is coming out, unless those things are broken which i almost did..lol
heres what it looks like
OBJECTS IN MIRROR ARE LOOSING
mine looks like this, no gaps.
2002 DSG HD #09617 NHTOC Truck of the month November 2012

looks good, that's what i wanted but a friend of mine picked this one up for me since he works at a shop, only $5 can't complain. i really like how it holds the radio in place though, but i'll probably end up swapping it cause of that gap.
It tried this kit with my particular HU and found it a bit thin on the top. I didn't like he gap at the top at all!
So I began tinkering and realized that after all these years my HU was "sticking out" further than I'd like.
All this time I thought it was the mass of wires & connectors in the back of the HU that wouldn't let it go back.
I got in there and took a real good look. I found a big U shaped bracket that held the "stock" radio/CD player.
This thing was about 8"-10" long and approximately 2" wide. I removed it & rearranged the wires and it sat back!
Once the HU was now recessed further I put on the AC cover and the flip down screen would get stuck opening.
I used a couple of different double din kits, trimmed the back of the AC cover and it now works, sits & looks good.
Did I mention that it took me 2 1/2 hours of tinkering, trimming and testing to get it to work and look much better!
Yea, I've looked at it over the years and I was never happy with the "fit and finish". I'm happier now. It's much better!
Thanks again for making me purchase bracket that didn't fit and tackle a project I really didn't want to do.
Sometimes it's the little things that make you happy!
that's a bit weird, as you can see from my pic there's no gap in mine?
but yes, you do need to cut out the bracket from the stock setup, that was even part of the instructions that came with my double din kit, there's no getting around that!
