I have found the finer grit paper 2K+ at my local auto parts store (Auto Zone).

You should be able to remove 2k sanding marks with a DA.
    I use a 3"-3 1/2" backing plate and 4" orange CCS pad with M105.
If you can, follow that up with a 4" white CCS pad and M205.
What pad/polish combo do you have?

After the DA be sure to wipe 'em down with IPA before sealing.

I have 105 and 205, but I was thinking the 2k marks wouldn't need that aggressive of a combo to clean up so if I can't find 3k I was going to try a yellow pad with optimum polish compound.

I do the M105/LC Orange M205/LC White all the time after wet sanding the lights.

That M105/M205 combo will get out the 2k sanding marks. Give it a try. It works for me.

Went to harbor freight, pepboys, napa and finally gave up and made the 15 minute drive to autozone and finally found a 3k sandpaper, ugh! Almost was going to give up on finishing the light this weekend and order from amazon!

Top is after 3k sanding and wiping off, bottom area is a test pass of the urathane/spirits mix after 10 mins of drying.

I've only done one light (drivers side) te other is there kind of as a before comparison. My lights were not that bad at all as you can see but the drivers had a hazy area on it which looks to be wiped out now.

Now I have to do the other one because the drivers is way cleaner looking, lol!

Done and installed these headlights are super easy to remove, pita to get back in correctly, having the corner lights off makes it easier though.
