    Hawglet's replacement - 68 Cougar

Just a quick post of the vehicle that replaced Hawglet (C_bo's new buggy).

1968 Mercury Cougar XR-7 rust free California car.

Let's just say the seller was less than truthful when advertising the car and it's a bit more of a project than I anticipated. However, a test of patience and being thorough isn't a bad thing.

The Magnum 500 wheels and dry rotted pre-2000 "new" tires were replaced over the weekend with a set of freshly powder coated 1970 Cougar wheels, running cat center caps, and new lug nuts.

Man, I was driving around saturday and saw a mint "survivor" 68 at a gas station, the late 60s gold paint and black vinyl top, original wheel covers, the whole deal, I thought how cool those cars are! Nice one!

    Nice job Bob!
I actually like the looks of that year Cougar better than a Mustang.
