I have a 12w7 in a custom enclosure my buddy built for me 6 years ago. I have a JL 1000/1 powering it. It sounds really good. Here are pics:

Yeah I have a jl 1000/1. I love that box. I talked to my local stereo shop and for something like that they wanted over 1500 dollars to build. I don't really want to spend that kind of money for a box.

You all have some real nice boxes. That's exactly what I'm looking for. If you don't mind me asking what did those run you to have them built? I don't really want to spend 1000 dollars for a box.

Man those are some sweet Boxes. I just got my hands on a 13w7 and a JL 1000/1v2 to power it. Now I just need to sound deaden and build the box. I got the Infinity kappa 682.9CF with the external passive crossovers and a Kenwood Navigation radio already installed. I can't wait to add the sub. SoFlaHarley, your box is awesome.

Had a buddy at a local shop take of mine for me. I paid wholesale price on the Double Din but he only asked for $100.00 for materials for the box to be built.

You could probably not pay that much if you shop around....but remember sometimes you only get what you pay for.

Well guys I got my w7 all hooked up and I have to say I'm not really impressed. Maybe I was expecting to much out if it. It sounds good but it isn't as loud as I hoped and expected.

Is the box ported or sealed? Also did the box maker follow the recommended specs that JL has on their website?
