Im lost but the brake light switch is located in front of the brake pedal down arm.look straight up from the pedal to underneath the dash. There is a parking brake indicator switch in front of the parking brake lever also. It alerts the operator that the brake may be or is engauged. To find it look up the pedal from underneath, like one would to find the brake light swtich.
Is this neccessary to wire up a DVD player?.beyond me, but good luck!

it should be right at the little bumper where the parking brake rest against when its up...the switch is normally right in the middle of the bumper..

They do these bypass switches because in most states by law DVD's/TV screens are not allowed to be playing and visible to the driver while the vehicle is driving.

I guess the flip down factory ones in the vans for the rear passengers are ok?

That would be correct Cayman I had the ticket to prove it.
Good news is that it was thrown out of court when I showed the judge the page in the operators manual where it would only play on the front screen if the parking brake was engaged.
I did NOT show him the cheater switch. LOL
