    Did the L shock swap

Wow! I've really been missing out! Got a pair for $25 with 57k on em. Installation was fairly easy, driver side was sort of a pain but well worth it!

Yes....the HD's basically came with the stock F150 shocks (and I say basically becuase they are not exactly the same, but they might as well should have been considering the ride)

As Matt said ^^^ ... yes. I will say YES!! Stock shocks are the biggest issue with these trucks with "cryo-fracture" manufactured rods as the second biggest issue. Earlier 4-thread heads are third biggest issue.

I've been wanting to redo the suspension, but not trying to spend thousands of dollars. So far I'd like to replace the front shocks w/ something firmer, then do whatever it takes to make the rear the same. Maybe lower the entire truck 2" all around, add bags in the rear (suggestion from a towing thread) and then add the Hellwig rear sway bar, which I assume means I should upgrade the front swaybar as well.

I'm going to search, but any direct suggestions in the meantime? I've already been told about what model # of Hellwig for the rear I need, as well as the bags, so now I just need to know what to do to the rest parts wise.

    Thumbs up

Might want to keep an eye out for the Hotchkis TVS setup that comes with front and rear springs and sway bars. It drops the truck further and maintains a great ride. Pair this with the Bilstein SC or L shocks and a pan hard bar for additional gains in handling.

Sometimes you can catch guys parting out there trucks and get them used as I believe the TVS package is hard to find new these days.

Thanks for the suggestion. I looked on their site and they're no longer listed, so hopefully one pops up. I've been reading about Hotchkis vs Hellwig and the Hellwig is supposed to be much thicker and solid in most cases, but a complete, pre-made package like that would be nice as well.
