This month’s winner comes to us from the lone star state of Texas. It was easy to learn that he is a "car guy" and enjoys turning a wrench. He's married, and has one awesome three year old little girl. He loves to build mini trucks, play Halo and Forza on XBOX and spend time with the family.
It’s a privilege to see another 100th anniversary “Shamu” be selected as NHTOC – TOTM. So, with that being said let me be the first to congratulate our Feburary 2012 TOTM winner, Nathan “kaoss” Hovanec and his 2003 Two Tone Harley F150 build #7938.
Question # 1: What sparked your interests in the Harley trucks?
Specifically your HD Truck?
I’ve always loved Lightnings, but with a kiddo I needed to room. I remember the first time I sat in one, it’s possible it’s the one I own now, I was sold. The one I bought now has a little damage here and there, so it was a good deal.
Question # 2: Any interesting stories behind the history of vehicles
you've owned leading up to the HD truck or how you got it?
Nothing really interesting about the HD. I did trade in a gorgeous super charged 2003 Nissan crew cab 4x4 Frontier with a mere 30,000 miles on it towards the HD. The issue with the Nissan was that my 2 year old could kick me from the back seat.
Question # 3: Give me a rough list of the mods that have been done to your truck. I know you've got a lot done, so you can just list your favorites if you'd like!
I really haven’t done much other than clean the truck up. New spark plugs, cleaned intercooler, Home Depot oil trap. It came with a drop in K&N, dual Flowmasters (that have been replaced), and some 2” drop spindles.
Question # 4: Tell us a little about yourself. Your other hobbies, your job, your favorite past time, whatever!
I’m a family man first. Wife of 8 years and the 3 year old take top priority. I love building mini trucks, my current project is a 1977 Datsun 620 that will lay rockers. I work customer support for a software company.
Question # 5: You've been a member on the site for a while now, what is one of the best things you like about the site that keeps you around?
The trucks.
Question # 6: What is one suggestion to help make the site a better place?
I really do not care for the built-in mobile layout. I prefer using Tapatalk.
Question # 7: This is where I normally ask about where you decided on your screen name and any specific reason for choosing it?
Standing around the Datsun when I first bought it, some one said, “You’ll be Kicking A$$ Old School Style” and it KAOSS stuck.
Question # 8: Almost at the end, what is in the future for your truck?, so what’s the next plan of attack for your trucks future?!
It needs some PDR, and a couple things replaced. It’s on the back burner until the Datsun is drivable though, no room for two projects. I’d like to lower it some and do a 4lb lower and a good tune.
