    Rebuild Part Deux

A few years ago I did a garage rebuild with the help of a friend and I learned a ton about the 5.4 modular engine. The truck ended up running mid 7's in the 1/8 mile and dynoed about 600rwhp.

Even though the build appeared successful, there were lots of little things that could have been done differently.

So this time... I have hired professionals and it will be done properly.

I am going to have the block refreshed, bored 20 over and use JE pistons.

    While we are at it:

Trick Flow Twisted Wedge Track Heat 185 ported heads
    Larger custom grind Comp Cams
    80lb Injectors
    Tuned for E85

Looking for 700rwhp and low 11's in the 1/4 mile.

    Wish me luck!

HPP Racing will be doing the build. They have been doing my tuning for awhile now and turn out the most sick Fords in the area.

    Question

Heard great stuff about Manny and the crew, Good luck.

Is this new build just because you want it faster or did something happen to the motor?

Nothing happened to the motor. In an effort to fix a few minor issues and make the truck faster, it was decided a rebuild was in order to support the new mods and ensure maximum performance.
Yes officer... I am aware of how fast I was going!

Man, I would love to see your ride after the rebuild is done. I have been looking for a good tuner locally. Thanks for posting the info for HPP Racing. I will check them out. Im about to pull the engine out of mine for a full rebuild, then I will need it tuned due to the added Mods. Im at about 199k miles.

Are they just doing the machine work or are they doing the full log block rebuild? I just may take mine over there when I pull it out.

They are doing everything. There is nothing this shop can't do.

Better get with them now... they are WAY backed up on builds.

Cool. thanks. I just talked to Brian over there and we are going to see what we can do. They are only a few weeks behind so thats not too bad. Wells Racing in Duncanville is so far behind they said they could do a long block rebuild sometime this fall. Yikes!
