    Mufflers?

What kind of exhaust are you all running?? I got two flowmasters and it sounds like ****. It makes sorta like a gargling sound when i really step on it and i dont like it at all. I want something loud and deep but w/ an even sound. What do you all recomend?

Get a Magnaflow cat back system. The mufflers have an x-pipe built in for the rumble. Or you can just go x-pipe into a straight exhaust

H pipe would help, x would make it more raspy.

I run obx longtubes, walker/dynomax x pipe, no cats, and the stock muffler / catback. It sounds perfect IMO.

I'll give the H pipe a try and if that doesn't help i'll go with the magnaflow, i remember having the chrome one on my 03 4.6 and it sounded great. Thanks for the help

No mufflers on mine but have the original cats. Love the sound, but am thinking of putting on one high flow flow cat for each side in place of the two that are on there now...next spring.

flowmasters are very well known on these trucks to rob power, and sound like garbage compared to their competition.

don't go with a chambered style design on these engines. stick with a bassani or magnaflow style, you'll gain lost power back, reduce drone, and improve sound

I have 2 round 18" Borla XR1s with an X pipe on mine. It's loud, only sounds raspy if I give it a good rev in park, but under load it doesn't. I like the sound, but it does have a bit of a drone in 3rd before it shifts into 4th around 40 mph. Stock cats.
