    Wideband o2 sensor

    Hi everyone,
I have a 2000 f150 Harley 5.4l I have done lots of upgrades and now i have installed AEM 30-4100 wideband o2 sensor. Has anyone install one of these and if so did you hook it up by itself, meaning with the factory o2 and add new bung and sensor, or remove one o2 and replaced with the wideband.

Is their a way i can delete o2 and trick the ECU in using the wideband so info would be great.

You want to weld in a new O2 bung on the drivers side header just after the collector angled at either the 10 or 2 position. If I recall correctly there is an HOW TO on this site or on one of the other sites devoted to HD's & L's (lightningrodder, nloc, etc...)

Got no idea about tricking the ECU, but that is something I wouldn't do as I would think it would just cause more problems. Also the stock position for the front 02 sensor is farther back then where you want the A/F 02 sensor installed.

    K Thanks.
I've installed the wideband and it works good. It seems to run rich when on the gas between 10-12 but when driving in town its between 14-15. I have installed a sniper nos kit 100shot so being rich should be a good thing. I think the next mod will be a engine management system so i can tune through my lab top

At WOT it should be 10.8 - 11.4 depending upon your tune. When you get on the gas (not WOT), it can/will show different numbers that can be lower or higher.

When driving around town barely on the gas or not in boost then 14-15 is normal as it will stay around what it shows at idle.

What you need to watch out for is running lean when on the gas.

I've seen mine in the 9-10 range at WOT. I'm nothing close to stock and I keep it on a hot tune.... Just in case lol

Holy crap you are running rich as hell...may want to be careful with it being that rich to avoid fuel wash and damage to the cylinder walls. If your really that worried, I would suggest hooking up a meth injection but still get that A/F to 10.8-11.4

Don't think so, and if you could it would nearly fix that. Your MPGs must be terrible lol. It should be smoking at that AFR

No smoke. I don't just got it back from the shop with engine number 4. I have only put my foot in it a couple times and watch that gauge everytime so it's no biggie. Ill try my other 2 tunes and see what they do.

that's much safer so long as there isn't too much timing that it would be detonating (rattling at wot).

WOT a/f ratio has nothing to do with gas mileage, and if you have cats there won't be any smoke, they'll just be cherry red hot...

No det. going on at all and cats aren't there either. The HOT tune he put it was for when I did get my mufflers swapped. When it was tuned he told me to get more free flowing mufflers and added an extra tune and guesstimated fuel for it. I just went back with his original tune. So far I'm happy with the new build quality. I just did my first oil change today and it all looked good lol. Not that I'm a chemist Now I just need new gears
