    03 Harley brakes and calipers

Did 03s come from the factory with bigger brake caliper than regular F150s and Expeditions? I called a rim shop for some 22s and the guy said he called the manufacturer and they said the bolt pattern is the same, so the wheels will fit, but they wouldn't be able to turn due to the bigger calipers on the HD hitting the wheel spokes. Anyone know about this?

He said the manufacturer said they calipers said Harley Davidson on them and were bigger, so maybe he's getting them mixed up with another model year and not the 03. Thanks

any benefit to upgrade to lightning front calipers? I assume all else is compatible for mounting? or do you need a caliper bracket to mount to the spindle?

I had gotten a pair of Baer Decel-a-rotors that fit a similar year Lightning or Navigator, turns out to use them, the calipers are different, the caliper mounts are different and all the little nit pick BS parts are different and it's just a ginormous headache to put lighting calipers and rotors on a 02-03 H-D F150. Also the stud size is different, so it was a straight PITA. I sold the calipers and dismissed that idea.

But to OP, i think your wheel / tire guy doesn't know what he's talking about.

You need the lightning callipers, pads, brackets and rotors, everything in other words. I did it because I had access to the parts at a bargain price and I liked the difference. The rotor is a little thicker not larger in diameter, the callipers are F250 units as are the pads.
