    Trans surge and tire wear...

As the title says, I've noticed two things.

One: Do VBs make the trans "surge" for lack of better words? If I accelerate, the completely get off the throttle and coast, it will sort of chug a little. The RPMs don't budge, but the truck almost feels like I'm lightly tapping the brakes and letting them go. When I reapply throttle, no issues.

Two: Very poor tire wear. Front looks to have bilstien shocks (blue and yellow) the truck has 43k miles. The inside 1.5-2" of the tire is bald and the outermost 1" of the tire is bald. When I got it tired were low on pressure at about 20 psi and I brought them up to 38 and its made em go even faster. Is my alignment toast? I've read somewhere about clunk something and cam bolts. Wtf is that stuff and what do they do/go?

    Thanks guys

Coasting shudder isn't good, mine does not do that and before I went to 22's it would bark the tires on the 2-3 shift even.

It shifts hard when staying in it, but if I let it shift up to 3 or 4 and coast completely off throttle it will lightly surge. It's nearly unnoticeable but I'm extremely picky and picked it up a couple days ago. Not sure how to even diagnose it bc the RPMs don't surge

It seems like a torque converter issue to me.

Have you tried flushing the tranny completely yet ? I would flush it first and the converter too. If that does not resolve the problem you can add SHUDDER FIX also . I have used shudder fix before and it does work...

What bgstew said and get alignment done with LIGHTNING SPECS. I also rotate my tires every 3,000 miles and filled with Nitrogen also...good luck.

No I haven't, but I did check the level and the fluid looked brand new. I think the VB was a more recent install bc it's BRIGHT! And it's not really a shudder, it's just like a very slight lurch and its random. I have a hard time duplicating it

Do I need the suspension mods on a stock setup?

Ok, so cam bolts aren't necessary since I'm stock height but clunk washer is. So once installed get L spec alignment and I'm good? I hope so, I've never seen tire wear like this before

What's the wear rating on your tires?

Maybe they are a softer compound than most?
