I wish I could have found a real good detailer in my area.
It would have saved me thousands of hours and dollars.

A good detailer is hard to find. What all did you have done?

He shampooed the carpets and cleaned the inside real good, he also cleaned and waxed the outside, got a couple of scratches off of it, and the engine bay. cost me only $50, guy owned his own shop. the first pictures of my truck without the mustang was right after it was detailed. It unexpectedly rained that day, right b4 i got home lol

That's an interior wipe down, vacuum, wash and wax. I'm guessing it took 30 minutes to an hour. Is that correct?

That's different than what I do. When I do the outside...polishing the paint alone can take me 20-40 hours to do.

    That's why

I can usually do the exterior on a normal Daily Driver in about 20+ hours.
That's two guys putting in a full hard 10 hour day. In by 8am and out by 7pm.

Add another day or two if ya' wanna kick it up a couple more notches to "Show Car" finish.
This includes Menzerna PO85rd via DA or 3M Ultrafina via rotary to obtain the "jeweled" finish.
Then the paint is "conditioned" (Yes, there is conditioner for paint) before the 2-3 layers of LSP.

Just to get started a wash, clay, inspect, wash and repeat again (if needed) 2-4 hours.
After that (once the paint is clean) I am able to access the paint to see what needs done.
Then I section off a 24" x 24" test area and apply the 4 P's - Paint, Pads, Polish and Process.
This will allow me to determine the correct combination, once dialed in, I repeat on the vehicle.
Nothing worse than not getting it exactly right...doing the entire vehicle then having to do it over.

Side Note: I have been known to do JUST a "wash and wax" ONLY in about 1-2 hours.
This is for follow up maintenance on vehicles that I have already done a "Show Car" detail.

I only do one vehicle a week so I can be kinda picky on the vehicles I choose to do.
I will NOT do the soccer Mom mini-van with bubble gum in the seats and vomit in the carpet!
If you want a wash, carpet vacuumed, windows cleaned & tires shined take it to a car wash.
I'll even give you the $14.95 and the extra dollar to squirt in some "New Car" or "French Vanilla".

On the other hand there has been a few NHTOC folks that have stopped by and we have had a detail day.
If you want to bring your truck to my house AND you're willing to help...I will be glad to teach you for FREE!
This is an open invitation to ALL NHTOC members...remember I will be glad to "teach you how" but you MUST help.
If you would rather watch. I have a comfortable chair in the shade...you can sit back and soon you'll understand why the time.
It is work. It's not the hardest work I've ever done but it is work. I promise you at the end of the 10 hours you will be pretty tired.
Then when you are all done, to be able to step back & admire what your truck looks like after you have done all that work - PRICELESS!
NOTE: One more thing I thought was important and needed to be mentioned, if you choose the comfortable chair option you will get a bill!

    Take Pride in your Ride!

Sounds like a good "wash and wax" with interior cleaned & dressed.
What kind/type of scratches are they? See Detailing & General Care
