FL Old Town 2013 Meet - Feb 9th - Kissimee, FL

DATE IS SET FOR FEBRUARY 9, 2013 !!!

Specialty Car Shows | Old Town

Time is from 9am to 5pm

Let's get 60 trucks out there this year guys!!!!

Add yourself to the official facebook event too! - https://www.facebook.com/events/109563629213399/

    Getting to OT:

    OT's Address is:
5770 W Irlo Bronson Memorial Hwy,
    Kissimmee FL, 34746

Easily Accessible from either I-4 or the FL Turnpike. It's also less than half an hour from Orlando Int'l (MCO) if anyone wants to fly in ;)

However, to make it easy for everyone to find, here's where the meet is within OT itself. Our space is the parking lot all the way at the end of the Old Town Complex, at the intersection of Skylark Drive and Holiday Trail.

You can get exact directions to that point here - Holiday Trail - Google Maps on google maps.

Here's the aerial view of the lot we have. I expect it to be full of lightnings that day!!

    Where to stay:

Orlando has a near infinite amount of lodging options. If you're making a trip of it and taking the family to Disney or Universal, you may choose to stay somewhere else.

For those of us who are there just for the OT shenanigans, there's a few places right nearby which we have used in the past and most people enjoyed.

Barefoot'n in the Keys (several of us are reserved here already)
    2754 Florida Plaza
    Kissimmee, FL 34746
    Toll-Free: 1.800.634.3119
    Local: 407.856.7190
    www.barefootn.com

    Seralago Hotel
5678 West Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway
    Kissimmee, FL 34746
    Toll-Free: (800) 366-5437
    Local: (407) 396-4488
Kissimmee Hotel: Seralago Hotel & Suites, an Affordable Family Hotel near Disney

    Tropical Palms Resort & Campground
2650 Holiday Tr., Kissimmee, FL 34746
    Toll-Free: (800) 647-2567
    Local: (407) 396-4595
Resort - Campgrounds | Tropical Palms

    What to bring and expect:

Bring your truck, bring your friends, your dog, your family, and get ready to meet everyone and enjoy the day in the sun checking out everyone's rides! :bigtu

I recommend wearing some sunscreen, depending on the weather that day, bring a couple folding chairs, plenty of water, and plenty of recreational beverages! We aren't allowed to cook out at Old Town, but we encourage everyone to try some food from the amusement park, and feel free to bring snacks and drinks to share if you are so inclined!

    Official Attendance Threads are here:

On LR: Old Town 2013 Attendance Thread - Lightning Forum | LightningRodder.com

On LG: OFFICIAL- OLD TOWN 2013 Attendance and Refreshments thread!

After the meet (approximately 4-5pm) we will be going GO-KARTING!

Last year, many of us went to Orlando Grand Prix afterwards, it was a blast. If enough people commit, we can have a seperate room and private race between only us reserved!

Orlando Grand Prix / Orlando Indoor Go Kart Racing
    9550 Parksouth Court
    Orlando, FL 32837
    (407) 434-7500

Man, I wish I could get up there for this event but I'm still trying to recover financuially from my Euro trip and the wife is trying to decide between Brazil or Costa Rica for the summer. Dang it.

All of you Florida gang and anyone in the south need to try and attend this as it is a kick azz event with a huge turnout. It's always nice to meet up with everyone and actually see their rides too. It actually gave me more confidence in their forum comments and more insight on the how-to's of doing some of the same mods to my own truck. Plus attending some more of the other GTG's during the rest of the year becomes easier when you already know most of the gang too. It's a quick and easy way to get help spending all your money and doing more mods! Think of it as truck therapy!

    Go for it guys!

This looks interesting and only about 1.5 hrs from where I am. I noted about 40 trucks signed up already, anyone know if a fee applies to show? Hoping to get my ride back from the custom painter by the 7th, it goes next Friday for a custom job. Picking up my ARE rear lid with spoiler tomorrow and really excited to be losing the roll in lock cover.

If I can convince the wife I am in ( and of course if the painter is done on time ).

The sad part is that the ride "Rip, ride, and rocket" at Universal Studios actually denied me riding the coaster because I was too tall..... sure enough they had a measuring meter that indicated a height max. This was after waiting an hour in line just before getting on. Everybody boo'ed the employee that worked there lol

And Merlin that is a SWEET HD limo!! Would glady chip in to pull up in that haha
