    Is it time for new leaf springs?

    Hey all, i heard some squeaking coming from the rear leaf springs looked under the truck and saw this...truck has 120,000 miles and im thinking this doesnt look good right? is it time to replace the leafs? should i just do everything while im there??? thanks for your help

    anyone?? its a hotchkis tvs leaf..is it suppose to look like this? can it be repaired? or should it be replaced?

    Yeah, not good.. Have a question, see you have a Bassani Catback, do you hear any rattle (tips hitting against the leaf spring shackle)?

    i do hear a rattle, but was there before the exhaust, i'm hoping its a cat heat shield since it started when i changed the pulley.. will baby it and take it in the next few weeks and figure it out...

    Definitely not good! A good suspension/spring outfit can repair that spring if they are able to determine spring-rate after repair ... but why? I suggest just replacing both with new Belltech since Hotchkis are no longer available. BT is a bit stiffer/unforgiving than Hotch but at least they will both be new and even?

    Appears that right chassis-rail is bent inward? ... how/why?

    as for the chassis rail i'm not sure as far as i know im the second owner no accidents, unless your telling me it looks otherwise?? thanks for the info

    so i slid under the truck again and the leaf springs don't look broken when i jack the truck up i can tap the leafs straight again..could it be the bolts on the u clamp have loosen and thats what causing the leaf springs to shift?

    It just looks like the metal band that holds the stack of springs together has slid up off of the bottom leaf and allowed it to move. Either that or the one for that section has come off and is missing.

    Looks like a clamp came off is all. Shouldn't need to replace the whole stack, there are still some shops around that can reset leaf stacks. It'll need to come off though.
