no reverse help!

My 06 reverse made a big bang as I was backing up. got out and check to make sure I didn't run something over. when I got .
back in my t.ruck I had no reverse. all other gears work fine any ideas?

Easy & low cost stuff first....check and change your fluids & filter.

If it's not that then perhaps, reverse clutch failure? Could be the clutches, seals, or perhaps an internal spring?

Probably going to need to remove the transmission and tear it down to see what's going on and then repair as needed.

Everythnig I have seen online so far said this is not an electrical issue and that it is a completely hydraulic actuated engagement.

Also saw that a similar issue happened to a guy on another forum and the answer he got was "Usually the popping noise is the clutch failing. There is an internal spring that will pop, you are going to need to remove your transmission"

Crazy post I saw said "put it into overdrive and start accelerate until tranny shifts hard....low and behold reverse is back and all gears are back to normal" --> Not sure I would do this
