dsdavis has reported the site to roadrunners abuse department

He reported the emails from the classifieds that he asked for as spam

Now the company that hosts the server wants to take action against us.

We dont auto subscribe anyone to anything
he/she had to have gone in to the classifieds and ASKED to be alerted when a category had emails added to it

    What an idiot

Amazing that RR will harass a site that users can only opt in to receive messages from, while I manage to get phishing scams from overseas every day and I'm on the same ISP.....

I doubt the member did that to be malicious, some people just don't understand how the web works and think it's easier to move messages to spam instead of simply unsubscribing. For those who don't know how it works, moving newsletters or any group emails to junk dings the sender, when the sender gets enough dings an ISP can block them completely. In some cases, companies like Google can also block the site from search results or push it so far back nobody will ever find it. My customers who use AOL (why anyone still does is beyond me) can't get any of our emails. I have to send group emails out a lot for our events and always have to re-send the AOL ones from a dummy Hotmail account I set up just for that purpose. Trying to get off the blacklist of most ISPs is like dealing with the DMV and the IRS combined, but with less customer service....

    Thanks for the reply
you are right many people either dont know who they signed up or are too lazy to unsign up ..

But in this case the user marked the email as abuse
I doubt that simply marking or moving email to junk is a negative against the sender. In t his case the user specifically reached out to the abuse team at RR

And you are right once the ISP bans you its tough to get unbanned

in our case I just banned the user
that assures that the unwanted email will stop ...
