I see more and more older folks driving them these days than the younger crowd. The older people aren't as interested in mods as the younger.

I have a long list of mods (more show than go) but I do enjoy making it and keeping it nice.
I'm a "older folk" and I truly enjoy keeping it a clean, maintained and as pristine as possible.
My Shamu is special to me. I breaks my heart when I see an 03 two-tone beat and neglected.
Each year it gets a bit older I'm happy I've taken great car in keeping it as nice as possible.
Each year more folks from the "younger crowd" purchase one and tear it up and IMHO ruin it.
Am I stock...No...but close, and what I have done is as "stealth" as possible to keep the feng shui.
But hey that's me and my personal philosophy. If I ever sell it the lucky buyer will get a cherry truck.
NOTE: The person I purchased mine from had taken great care of it and it was his "Pride and Joy".
Three "younger crowd" folks prior to me wanted to purchase the truck and he would not sell it to them.
He didn't want to see it abused.
At this time I wonder how many Shamu's there are still on the road and still in showroom condition?
I just saw an older guy in a black 03 yesterday. Beat up and neglected. Sad sad day
There is a black one a couple blocks from me, all beat up. So sad
I'm young but my 03 is my baby. I hate seeing some people with Harley's and they're all beat up ImageUploadedByTapatalk1414458217.058472.jpg
My wife has my 02. Luckily she babies that truck. It's kind of on loan to her. Gonna buy her a Jeep and take the Harley back. Then it's gonna get crazy lol
Gotta sell my DD first though. Anyone want/need an 03 Jetta GLi VR6 with a 6spd? 112000 miles, just did the plugs, flushed the coolant system, has 50% tread on the continentals
I dont think the older crowd isnt into mods; most of them are old school Hot Rodders. I just think a lot of them arent as tech savvy and know enough, or are confident enough to get on the forums. Even if its just because they cant type. Most probably dont even know a forum dedicated to their specific vehicle even exists. They didnt grow up with this stuff, so if nobody shows them whats out there, how do they know?
Ive got a later middle age fellow that works for me, and has a Camaro. He asks me everything he needs to know about it. Why? Because I know anything about Camaros? (which I dont) No, its because he doesnt know his way around the computer well enough to find out for himself, and Im probably the biggest gearhead he knows. So he hits me up, and I have his answer for him within seconds.
Now that Im thinking about it, of all the older guys I know personally that are somewhat at all interested in cars I cant think of one that doesnt have any mods done to their vehicle, whatever it is. Some mild, some wild. But once a Hot Rodder, always a Hot Rodder!
*cough* ripoff *cough*
That's just rude lol
I didn't even know about this site until about almost three years of owning mine, then one day I was on google curious and came across this and joined.. found out some good info as always...
The value of the information on NHTOC about our trucks is priceless!
