    Sway bar question

I'm planning on a 3/4" drop on my 01. I wanted sway bars to go along with the drop. I've seen a number of sway bars that I believe should fit but I'm not 100%. So basically if a sway bar is listed as fitting a lightning, will it also fit a harley? also a few say they specifically for lowered f150s. Does that make a difference when buying?

Lightning models will fit. If your lowered, get the lowered kit. They have shorter endlinks

Love my hotchkis suspension kit, get those bars if you can. The endlinks length is critical for handling of the truck after you lower it, you want the bar ends to sit level with the truck level, otherwise it can induce bumpsteer.

the HD's do have a heavy duty front sway bar, and no rear at all, so even just adding a rear helps a lot.

also for reference, hellwig is the stiffest sway bar. Hotchkis is stiffer than stock but not as stiff as hellwig.

Yes, I have the stock one on mine still. I cannot turn the wheel all the way to lock though, my tires rub the sway bar.

Yup....it's ideal to get shorter endlinks to put the geometry back into spec, but the stock bars actually work better with lowering since they're smaller diameter and less likely to rub.

This may be a really stupid question/point, but since I lowered my front with spindles, its really not necessary to get shorter endlinks as the geometry is still in spec, right?

get under the front of the truck while it's sitting level and look to see if the swaybar ends are parallel to the control arms. If they are, don't do anything. If they aren't, measure the length end-links that you would need to make them be.
