I have MotoBlu Dot 4. Flushing the fluid was one of the best things I have done to the truck. Ill do it again later this year maybe.
Yup...same here. Blue & Gold Dot 4
How much is usually needed to flush the whole system? I'm due to do a complete brake upgrade soon anyways, so it'd be nice to have everything ready to go.
I used a whole 1L of the ATE blue and that worked enough. I guess it depends on how dirty the other stuff is. Once it goes through the ABS unit it really gets clean.
I typically use up a 1L can for each flush as well.
I'm looking online and I see blue cans and brown cans...SL, SL.6 and TY200. Which is correct? I need to do both my Harley and my X5 (which really needs it after my trip from Seattle to Hollywood and back). Seems they're about $20 shipped, sound about right?
EDIT: Doing a search for Motoblu, eBay couldn't find anything. I went more generic and just did a search for "DOT 4" and came up w/ local brands I can get at any autoparts store. It's not like I'm taking my Harley to the track, so at a certain point isn't buying the ATE and other high performance brands just a placebo effect of spending 4x as much on the fluid?

I just did a regular bleed with the key on ACC and it flushed it all out
I've not been able to flush the abs. I know my buddy attempted to on his `03 cobra a few years ago and his car has never had a firm pedal since. I'm perfectly happy with what comes out of mine yearly.
I only use motoblu blue/gold because it makes it easy to identify that I've got all the fluid replaced with the color change. The extra cost is relatively tiny since I do the work myself.
I got two bottles of Motul 600 for $25 from a local BMW buddy who I'll be seeing in a few weeks at a big European car meet locally.
