P0340 code Cam position sensor
I got in my truck the other day, 2003 5.4 SC, and I had a SES light on. Hooked my code reader up and it said I had "P0340 Camshaft position sensor A Circuit (bank 1 or single sensor)" That's the only code it showed I had. I went and got a new sensor and installed it. Clerared the code and drove it around a while and the light came back on with the same code. The sensor seemed really easy to replace so I figured I couldn't have screwed that up too bad. I will check the harness connector when I get home if it's not raining. I wanted to know if there was anything else I needed to do when replacing the sensor that I didn't already do. Has anyone had this issue as well?
Thanks

Here are more things that it could be if not just the sensor.
- Faulty starter motor
- Starting system circuit
- Dead (Weak) battery
Read more: http://engine-codes.com/p0340_2003_f...dzGhukR...this could cause this code to be thrown.

As it turned out it also had a faulty Crank position sensor as well. Sucks that that wasn't as easy to get to as the Cam Sensor, took 3 hours to change that out.
