Just as a side not...I recently HAD to purchase a complete new set of window rubbers
They are brand new and have a satin matte finish. Maybe a very fine sanding is good?

Yeah, in checking out several HD's and screws, they are a very satin matte almost grey color to them.
Also spoke with a body man, to extent they can be painted however being they are rubber & the paint will not last much more than a year, and that is even prepped correctly. So I may be just dreaming at this point.
I found Wipe New and gave it a shot. Same thing, it wouldn't soak in, even after 30 minutes it just wiped off.
Sold my 2002 BLK #9638 to my wife's uncle, Sold my 2003 BLK #6682 to a nameless man local to me.
I spot checked 3 different products, then treated all of them with 1 product, then resanded them from the beginning (400, 800 then 2k) to SEM paint them. Then resanded them again from the beginning to remove the fish-eyed paint, and only wiped them down with Sonus Motor Coat.
I ended with a 2000 grit wet sand. Think I should hit them with a 3k or higher grit?

I would love to see them, and the process they used.
I spoke with a body man about these, and he has painted them before. The process he used consisted of cleaning them with Comet and a scotch brite pad, then cooked them in a paint booth, then sand them with a 400, 800 & 1500 grit, cleaned them with Comet again, then cooked them again to finally paint them. Used a normal paint, with a rubber additive, and even after all of that, it only lasted about a year & a half, because as he says: the rubber just doesn't hold onto the paint.
Sometimes...it is about what works!

I also got the new replacement piece, and it looks phenomenal compared to the old piece.
I got this one for $38.
So I did a little test treatment with the CarPro DLux, here's how it turned out:
I should have listened to you in the first place Merlin. Thank you sir I'm now going to order a kit of my own, instead of buying new pieces 1 by 1.
