    Cleaning my intercooler

I have started the process of cleaning my intercooler. It is going to take a few days because I am working on it after I get home from work. Weekends really aren't an option because I'm working and I would never hear the end of it if I didn't spend the day with the lady on sunday. Anyway, the truck has never had an oil separator on it. So it's as nasty as can be. I have the TB off and cleaned. I also have the plenum off. It is pretty nasty on the inside. I did not take a the pieces on the sides of it off (not sure what they are or called). Can I just spray the inside of that b!tch with carb cleaner with out taking these things off? I will try and post pictures of what I'm talking about. Thanks. O yea, I'm restricted to working during the day because I don't have a garage to work in.

The part names are as follows and in the same order as your pictures: IAC (idle air controller) on the left and a vacuum port on the right. The bottom picture is your EGR valve (exhaust gas recirculation).

To answer your second question, I would not recommend spraying can cleaner in those ports and call it done, because nothing would really get clean, and you'd have a puddle of carb cleaner in the bottom of the intake that could cause some serious damage when you start the truck up again.

Is it a must to strip the Teflon off if it's chipped off? Will it cause damage if I don't do that and it continues to come off?image.jpg

If it is flaking off more than just that edge, than yes it would be a good idea. But if all you see is just that edge and you're not seeing any bubbles or flaking, then leave it be.

Do I need to clean inside the supercharger? How can I go do this without getting carb cleaner on the rotors?

Awesome thanks. How hot does the supercharger and plenum get? I have some 1200 degree engine paint but it's a flat black..I was looking for a gloss...all I could find is 500 degree..think that would be ok?
