Is there some construction near work or near your house? That looks like fallout to me. I had something similar happen to me in the past. There was some stucco work and painting going on about a half mile away from my work and the wind was carrying the debris and settling on my car. To make matters worse, the sun was baking into my finish. Several of us got together and filed a complaint with the construction company. They ended up sending all affected vehicles to a detail shop to remove the debris.

Maybe let Merlin have a look but I would repeat the process and then get a car cover for it until you figure out what the root cause is.

It could be Ford "bad" primer they had a known issue with.

If it's under the clear that would be my guess. Does it look like it's growing?

I don't have any feedback on chip guard but I have used the 3m spray.
I personally did not have a good experience with the application.

There are some folks near me that apply XPEL. It's a bit $$ but I like it.
