Yeah, I wish I could have a afforded to do a more quality upgrade the first time around too. Agreed, you're definitely doing it right the 1st time.

Remember, RotorPros are only stock OEM size too and the other major brand kits usually provide larger rotors and multi-piston calipers for better stopping power in a true big brake kit fashion. No doubt they are superior both in quality and in price......but check how much it will eventually cost for all 4 wheels and then compare that to the RotorPro package which have been successfully operating on a lot of these trucks for a lot less money.

You can't argue the choice for quality and performance, but I think there seems to be a lot more choice and variety of vendors now from when these trucks first came on the market and the earlier mod crazy days! Appearance stuff seems hard to find these days since our model is so old and the newer models are attracting more attention but the drive train parts which are shared with regular F150's, Explorers and Expeditions and across the Mercury line are at least still there.

Mods=L&S Oil Sep, Blackwood trim & mirror caps, Navi ant' base, E-brake pedal, CAI, C&L Intake & Plenum, 95mm MAF tube, SBTB, 170 T-Stat, Predator+RWTD custom tune, 8# lower, PG Ti900.7 amp, JLA XR570-CXi & Stealthbox, FTVB, Finned Trans Pan, Line of Fire LED, J-Jent Grille, RotorPro Dimpled & Slotted rotors, LED taillights, chrome door strikes, billet locks & coat hangers, ChickenEars Engine Billet package #1&2+door sills, Metco billet aux idler bracket & pulleys, LFP E-Fan, Xenarc HID heads, clear corners, Roush HID fogs, Bedrug, L' 3rd, Kenwood DDX-7017 DVD+TV+Sirrius+RevCam, Lotek dual pillar pod with AutoMeter boost gauge & DynoJet WBC, fog switch mod, UPR billet window switches and door locks, FAST overlays, LFP 58" bars, Hotchkis TVS, Bilsteins, DblG Panhard, Cervinis Cobra R hood, BFG T/A KDW 2 tires, Hawk Ceramic pads, MGP caliper covers.

I had to get front pads on my '02 a few weeks ago, so I went to Oreilly's to check out their carbon metallic Performance Friction pads. I was skeptical at first, as they were $85 for the fronts alone.

I reused my Rotopros rotors -slotted and dimpled, and knowing that they weren't warped I didn't even turn them (I know tsk tsk). So after a couple weeks of letting the pads take shape to the tapered rotors I had the chance to bed them in the other night.

The point I am taking so long to get to is, I have been through a lot of brake setups on that truck and these parts store pads are by far the best setup yet. They brake 98% as good as the EBC green pads I had on there first, but with NO DUST!!! I went 3 weeks between washes on the truck and there was only road grime on the wheels, none of it was dust. The initial bite of these pads is incredible, and almost no fade.

Perhaps this wasn't the right place for this post, but I figured you guys should know. I will be putting these on all 4 corners of both trucks. And if I need rotors, I will get them from Rich at rotopros, I have 6 rotors from them now, and 0 complaints. Hell I even bought some for my wifes ex-Mazda, and was perfectly content with them; they actually out performed the factory brakes on that car hands down.

I haven't tried the carbon metallic pads as yet. I've used the ceramic pads and they don't dust like the others either. Thanks for the heads up!

Ceramics are nice for their lack of dust, but they don't have the bite I like. Especially on these heavy a$$ trucks of ours, they are just not up to the job. You will like these for sure.

Rear sway bar...you can always just put the stock lightning rear sway bar in or spend the money and upgrade to a Hotchkiss front and rear (which I have). I can take a hwy off ramp at 80 and the truck doesn't roll at all. She is tight...tight like a tiger!!!

I have had the brakes on for about 6 weeks now. It is amazing how much better it stops.

Where can you buy the RotorPro? The http://www.rotorpros.com website is weird. Do they still exist? This forum seems slow :-(

I just got some new rotors in for mine and plan on swapping them out here this weekend or next. last time I changed brakes was about a year ago. I know they are pretty simple but anyone have any tips or "don't forgets". I think it is always good to get input for others. Might turn on a light bulb for something I've been missing or not doing right. Thanks!

I might suggest new inner, outer bearings and seals while you at it.

SoCal Waite, So these pads you speak of are they Oreilly's brand???? have a part number? I plan to take your word and purchase me some here shortly.
