Things learned:
1) A larger (more expensive) transmission pan does not make the fluid cooler.
It does add more fluid that takes it a bit longer to heat up. A stock pan is fine.
2) When you pull the stock pan, you can put in a drain plug in it for about $10
The least expensive replacement pan alternative is the Ford OEM 4x4 pan.
3) It's a good time to replace the internal tranny filter when you drop the pan.
If you are changing the pan, be sure and get the correct filter height/depth.
4) Unless you are racing a lot or pulling the Titanic a tranny cooler is not needed.
If it is needed, then one plate style cooler without a fan should be adequate.
5) I like using an external auxiliary transmission kit to extend the transmissions life.
Normally when you turn off the engine there's a ‘backwashing’ effect on the filter,
A lot of the debris that is in the internal filter will then be forced down into the pan.
A 4r100 auxiliary filter...has a by-pass pressure relief valve, a magnet & a paper filter.
6) Depending on your driving habits, & what you like, you could choose a firmer shift.
If you want to take mommy to the mall (nice and gentle) get the street version.
I did. Around the suburbs you can barely tell the difference with the VB installed.
I must say though, that when foot hits floor the VB makes me have a big smile.
If I had it to do over I might have chosen a firmer (race/comp) shift just for fun factor.
7) If you do street or comp I think both folks will adjust it (even afterward) to your liking.
I've heard both Punisher & A1 will modify. The prob is...drop the pan, change VB, fluid etc.
I would call both folks and see who you like and are comfortable with. BOTH are very good VB's.
Speak with both vendors. Both build a quality product. Go with the one who makes you feel right.
I have had multiple phone calls to Woodbine and multiple emails from Paul (both are good peeps).
Folks who run A1 Transmission will say go with A1. Folks who run Punisher will say go with Punisher.
When Paul (Punisher) was able to build transmissions they were considered completely unbreakable.
Side Note:
Woodbine Motorsports is an authorized A1 transmission installation facility & they sell the Punisher VB.
You can't go wrong with either one. If you would like to PM me I'll be glad to tell you how I made my decision.

It looks a lot like the elusive Ford Racing Aluminum Automatic Transmission Pans M-7195-T
Looks like Summit racing have a similar one too from Trick Flow for $203.97.

I keep saying Im going to do this mod....
Got my pan and punisher street valve body on. Am i to assume the shifts will smooth up some at low throttle and i did disconnect the battery
How long have you had it installed?
The first day or two mine was a bit erratic but leveled out when the truck learned the VB.
Did you clear the KAM?
battery disconnected and headlights on right ?
"Disconnect the battery; turn the lights on for 5 minutes (yes the lights won't come on) This will clear the Keep Alive Memory (KAM) that stores the learned shifting strategy."
And yes, 1st and 2nd thumped a bit at first. Besides the truck learning the VB, your foot needs to learn a bit too. 1st and 2nd can still thump if I'm not gentle with the pedal.
Did you go with the street version?
Yes it is the street version, and i did purchase the street version ill give it a couple days thanks
