    Unsure about these heads

I'm gonna be pulling the motor in the next 3 months, i currently have a bad misfire and may need heads. I found a set of used stage 2 ported heads with stock valves, springs and cams for cheap. He says they're in good condition but he didn't use them, ported his original heads instead. Unknown mileage. I asked how many spark plug threads be said he doesnt know but they all have timeserts. It would be an amazing deal, but it worries me they're priced this low and still for sale, i worry maybe serts are bad, guides or seals are bad, why would he buy them then port his own instead? Would you take the chance?

I would pass myself. You may save a few bucks, but then you may have to pull them again and do the work all over. You could always take them to a shop yourself and have them gone over, but then the cost would probably add up to if you just went elsewhere in the first place. My main reason for passing though, would be because of the timeserts. I wouldn't want a set of heads on my truck that's full of inserts.

Depends on how good of a deal it is and if you can find someone who does lock n stitch near you.

I agree on the timeserts comment. They blow out just like the 4threads

They also have a tendency to back out with the spark plugs.
