ABS light is on - need help

    Hey guys,

I have another thread on hear looking for a manual for this problem. I figured I would start a thread to see if you guess can help.

The problem I am experiencing is with the ABS light is on. I replaces the sensors on the diff, and passenger side. Light is still on and I dont want to keep throwing parts at it because that not how you fix something. I purchased those parts because it through those codes and the sensors were pretty cheap ( and its a common issue).

The codes I am getting are :

    C1145
    C1230
    C1198
    C1185

The funny thing is I will get the ABS light only after the vehicle is above 10 mph afetr it does its system check. Additionally there are time when it does not throw the light. But if I turn off the truck and restart and move again the light will come back on .

Any help wiil be greatly appreciated.

    jmarvolous,

Im not sure yet of it is the entire control module. What I am experiencing is the ABS light will turn on: either under the following conditions

    1. driver truck for about 2- 3 minute then light turns on
    2. Drive truck reach a particular speed 20- 30 ( system does check) then it turns on

What is strange is that there are times the ABS light will not turn on, indicating a fault. This might be a intermittent sensor. I was looking for a device that can scan the abs and I can watch the sensors in action to see which sensor is not reading.

In my case the following codes are defined as:
C1145 - Speed Wheel Sensor RF Input Circuit Failure
C1185 - abs inlet relay coil lt. ckt failure
C1198 - left front inlet valve coil failure
C1230 - Speed Wheel Sensor Rear Center Input Circuit Failure

I have come across C1185 on the Internet but mostly for an issue with 2002 Windstars tha that some people replace the switch on the master cylinder and resolve there issues. You can test this by disconnecting this switch, but will loose your cruise control.
This will be my next step rather than replacing the whole unit as some suggest doing.
Additionally, I will test all sensors with a meter.

If any one else can share information this would be great help

Ok I have been doing some research on the Internet. I came across a site that was talking about the wind star and disconnecting the plug on the master cylinder. I tried to disconnect the plug and drive and the light turn on again. However I left it disconnected and it is off now. I will continue to monitor this and see what happens.
I would try doing the same to see if you get the same result.
Keep in mind you will loose your cruise control.
