Do you use a foam Gun or Cannon/Lance?

I have been using a 75QGFMR for the summer. After reading many posts recently I decided to purchase a MTM Hydro 14.0263. Haven't used it yet, but it will be coupled with my gas Honda 3000psi / 3GPM Pressure Washer.

I use this for just getting the dust off from sitting in the garage and a few weekend jaunts around on sunny days.

    Karcher 2400psi gas pressure washer
    Chemical Guys Foam Cannon

    1. - Rinse the truck off with plain water to get the heft of dust off.
    2. - Install the foam cannon and then foam up the truck and let it sit for about 10-15 minutes to soak.
    3. - Remove the foam cannon and rinse the foam off with the pressure washer.
    4. - Use my shopvac as a blower to blow dry the truck.

Works pretty well for a complete touchless job to the paint when dirt is on it.
You can then apply Reload or your favorite LSP/Spray Quick Wax to enhance the gloss.
You may also have to take a microfibre towel and do the glass and chrome parts to really shine them.
Apply trim product to the black plastic parts and tires.

Daily drivers may have to wash sections with a good wool mitt after rinsing the foam off on sections where bugs or other deep grime is to get it all off.

You will like the new one with the pressure washer. A bit more power to flush dirt off too.

It gives such a show the neighbors will be stopping to watch!

Can't wait to try it out on my new car and truck soon

The foam gun was pretty good at keeping the cars pretty sudsy, but nothing like the videos I've seen where a foam cannon was used.

I'm personally not a fan of using a high PSI pressure washer on paint especially if it's fairly dirty.
For making foamy suds it's pretty good (and fun) but I don't like rinsing with lots of high pressure.

    Why?

If you vehicle is "dirty" then high pressure will cause the "dirt" to scrape across the paint and possibly scratch.

    Two Bucket Method

Sometimes (if I'm feeling adventurous) I foam and use a two bucket wash.
but in the end...clean paint is clean paint no matter which method you use.

    Small Pressure Washer

A small pressure washer works fine for washing paint

I don't mean with the narrow beam of high pressure. Sometimes that will even start to peel the decals so you have to be careful not to get too close.

I'm talking about the widest beam setting on the nozzle and standing off a good ways so you get a nice swath of water to rinse with.

There is no way I am going to even touch the vehicle if it has any heavy dirt on it before rinsing it off first.

Notice my pressure washer is only a 2400psi not the big commercial 4k to 5k ones! Everything in moderation!

    First Item: Pressure Washer
Me personally, after reading 100's of reviews and watching 100's of videos I actually choose the smallest electric rig I could find.
I went with the Ryobi 1600. This was due to the quality results that Roshan (two prior videos) obtained with his small AR 118.
In my personal case, I did not want to pressure clean my sidewalk, driveway or remove the paint off the side of my house!!!
It's only purpose in my life is to foam vehicles for washing. It's pretty tiny, works great, small footprint and fits on the shelf.

    Second Item: Foam Cannon
In this case I choose the Carpro Snow Foam Cannon. Why you ask? I like Carpro service & I knew Corey would stand behind it.
Is it made by Carpro? Probably not. My guess is it's made in China then relabeled, repacked and sold under the Carpro brand.
Now the important part...Is it a quality Snow Foam Cannon? My answer to that question would be yes. It is very well made.

Now here comes the tricky part. Like Roshan in the above video, you need a connector to connect the foam cannon to the PW.
Carpro offers a list of six different cannon connectors that you can choose from but none of them worked with the Ryobi 1600.

    Third Item: PW/Foam Cannon connector
Unlike the year & a half it took Roshan to obtain the correct connector I went back to Home Depot where I purchased the PW.
Home Depot has a small collection of connectors. I found a 1/4" Quick Connect kit and used part of it to connect to the Cannon.

With a little Plumbers tape (supplied with the Cannon) I wrapped the 1/4'' Female inlet part on the 1/4" Quick Disconnect

Will this small pressure washer produce 6" thick foam that just sticks in place for 20 minutes? No, but it does a GREAT job!
I will attempt to make a video later on and post it up. For such a small rig I am pretty impressed with the PW and Cannon.
