    2006 Hd Engine ticking

I have a 2006 HD.. my truck's engine has a loud ticking sound. I have not taken it to a mechanic or shop yet just wanted to get an opinion on what the problem possibly could be and what an estimate of what it would cost to repair it.

We really need to hear it to help diagnose. A ticking to you could be a clanking to someone else. Lifter, spark plug, rod, timing chain guides..... all sorts of possibilities. How many miles are on it? Even after hearing it it's still a guess.
