Dont get a ftvb. They are made by a company now and not as good. Try to get a punisher vb.

Here's a link to the L&S Oil Sep. Tell 'em NHTOC sent ya'.
IIRC there is a NHTOC member that works with/for them)

Next Item, IIRC factory tech has not made valve bodies for a long time.
There are/were two folks recently that make 'em A1 Transmissions and Punisher.
I believe that A1 may have stopped making them now (too busy)? That leaves Punisher.

IIRC The A1 manufacturer stated many times that his and the Punisher VB were much better than Factory Tech.
I believe he was pretty vocal about the quality of their two valve bodies in comparison to the quality of the FTVB.

These two Valve Bodies come in two basic types. Street and Racing. I choose street for a driver.
Here's a link to A1 Transmission Here's a link to Punisher Valve Body I hope this helps.

Correct, A1 no longer makes them due to being to busy for them. I had a Factory Tech previously and hated it. I have a Punisher now (for about the last 5 years) and I like it much better.

It's not required. Try performing a search to read up on it. I believe Merlin, throttle jockey, SonicHD as well as others all have write ups including p/n's too.

    Here's a little thread.
    http://www.nhtoc.com/vbforum/showthr...Street-Version

I went with the Ford OEM 4x4 pan.
A little more fluid and easier to change in the future.

OEM 4x4 pan is a good cheap upgrade. But keep in mind, it will hang below the framerails, with the drain plug being the lowest point. If your truck is lowered, or you plan to lower it, it could be an issue.

I lowered the rear to level the truck. The front is stock height. I have no issues.
Some folks have installed a drain plug in the stock pan for ease of maintenance.
I'm probably not a big fan of a aftermarket drain plug. I'd be afraid of it leaking.

    https://woodbinemotorsportssales.squ...pan-and-filter

    The benefits:

A deeper pan to hold more fluid, about 1.5 qt
Built in drain plug. No more messy filter/ fluid changes!

Correct, your front is not lowered. Most likely wont be an issue. When you just lower the rear with shackles, it's only going to lower the area under the trans maybe 1/2" at most. But if you throw 2" springs in the front, well, then you may have a problem. Just throwing it out there because I know it's gotten some. Myself for one, and I think I just saw Sean (SR81) post on facebook the other day that his got dinged. There is a reason Ford didnt put that pan on from the factory.
