New guy from Jax Florida
I found this forum as I was trying to look up information on the truck I just bought. I Was just looking for an F150 when I found this gem and couldn't pass it up.
With that being said I'm trying to figure out just how shiny does ghem really is. Here's what I have it's a 1997 with the factory option Saleen supercharger. It is purple, no I believe the actual color is dark amethyst. It is in mint condition I have both keys in the book it's still in the the leather bound Harley cover. The real kicker is it's almost 2017 and this truck only has 17442 miles on it. Can anybody help me out with how shiny this thing really is? By the way it's number 6168.

Welcome to the site but it sounds like you have a modified F150. Post some pics so we can have a look at her.

It is not modified. It is from the factory like this. From my research this was only offered in the summer of 2007. Also from what I read the Dark Amethyst was fairly uncommon. I used voice to type that first message so it was a bit confusing. Should have read like this.
I was looking for a F150, saw this across the lot and not really wanting an HD but decided to look anyway. It was at Carmax. The sales guy was sorta knowledgable and said it had 350HP with a SC. I actually thought he was full of poop and MAYBE it had a turbo or something. Well curiosity got the best of me and even though I didnt buy it that night I decided to do some research and this is what I found.
The Saleen SC was offered as a mid-year upgrade inn the summer of 2007. It actually has 450HP and 500 ft lbs. With this upgrade also came some badging additions to include thelettering on the side of the bed. There may have been a few other options but those are the ones I specifically remember.
Needless to say I decided that all this AND it only had 17K on it, which put it $2000 UNDER KBB for the version WITHOUT the Saleen SC which was a $6500 option, I went back first thing in the morning and closed the deal.
I dont think I made a bad decision just curious if anyone else thinks it was a great decision?!? Regardless thanks for all your input.
