New brakes and rear sway bar

Getting ready to bite the bullet on brakes. Ordered bilstein shocks last night. I have done a little research and decided on Wilwood front brake kit. The pricetag is a little steep, but everything I have read is positive. Not sure on the sway bar yet. Still doing research. My old truck(99 f150) handled horribly, and the hd truck is a dream compared to it. Cannot imagine it getting better, but doing the rear sway anyway. Since the pulley upgrade, the brakes are really not performing and it scares me.

I think JCW has the kit for my truck several hundred dollars cheaper, plus 10% off at checkout.

the biggest problem with the brakes and running more boost is the power brake booster on these trucks are vacuum powered. More boost means less vacuum, especially after a full throttle romp and then you try to jump on the brakes.

Best upgrade you can do IMO is swapping to hydroboost brake booster, there's a few threads on people that have done it here and other forums.

I will look into that. I ordered the wilwoods this morning. 6 piston calipers should slow it down a little quicker. The brakes will be here in a couple of weeks I am guessing.

Did you order a few extra sets of pads and an extra set of rotors? I have always been concerned with the availability of parts later when they need to be replaced. Our trucks are no spring chickens...

I did not. I hope it will not be an issue. I am still recovering from the kit price. Looking at exhaust upgrade options right now.

That's why a lot of peeps went with the all 4 wheels RotorPro kit for about $300 which is usually the cost for just one wheel in Baer or Wildwood or other major brands.

But RotorPro's cant even compare to a Baer or Wilwood kit, so that's not fair. People go with the RotorPro's purely because they are relatively cheap, and the others aren't. I'm sure every one of us would throw in a big brake kit if it were cost effective.

The price of the kit is definitely not cost effective, but it is quality. Only live once. LOL
