Lightbulb last repair and lessons learned...

What was your last repair/problem and lessons learned?

My front wheel bearing went out a few months back. The wheel started to shake at high speeds and rotor started to grind against the rotor guard. It damaged the spindle so I ended up having to replace the spindle and rotor.

The punch to the gut was I had just gotten new rotors on the front and a brake job. They repacked the old bearings...

If you get new rotors have the bearing replaced regardless...

Last repair/fubar I had was on my L. I installed the drop spindles and shackles then drove to San Antonio from Dallas. I wasn't paying attention and over tightened the spindle nuts. Fried the brand new spindles, rotors, bearings and nearly lost the drivers side on the north loop in SA. Had to borrow a truck to get home and get the trailer, drive back and pick it up and then put another front end under it. Didn't make that mistake twice.

One thing I will say is when you replace the bearings, don't forget to swap the races. Haven't made that mistake but seen it tear up brand new bearings
