    oil leaking from valve cover

ok I'm going to keep it short and simple i rebuilt the whole engine new tf 185 heads and tf cams all manley internals new gaskets everything new. but the valve covers are leaking oil from both sides from the back in front of the fire wall. i thinks its the gaskets but builder is recommending me to buy new valve covers since the heads are new. let me know if anyone has had this problem or what a good solution would be thanks.

What valve covers are you using? I had sheet metal valve covers and I had a machine shop true the mounting surface. They were WAY off!!!!

A machine shop trued sheet metal covers?? You mean cast type....like the factory ones? Clean both surfaces, install new gasket, install cover....ive had 5.4 covers off many times w no issues, several 4 liter ones too....

Not bad....you will have to clear out injector wiring and some of the other tubing and hoses.....newer models require coil pack removal
