    I need exhaust/muffler help!

My 2002 HD truck is now too loud. I just rebuilt the engine and replaced the catalytic converters. They were loose inside. So I get it back running and it's louder than it uesd to be. The converters were Magnaflow. I cut them off and used two new universal fit converters from NAPA. Well that was a waste of money because it's still too loud. So the only thing left is the muffler. But this truck has one big oval muffler with two inlets and two outlets.

So the big question here is, is anything available that is quieter than the original that is physically the same? Two in and two out. Maybe my original muffler had the insides break up and got louder? It has 460,000 miles on it.
Does anyone make a replacement muffler for the HD truck?
We build and dyno race engines every day, but the sound of a loud exhaust with no headers and a stock camshaft is not very pleasant. Thanks for any help.... Jon Kaase

Rebuilt to stock specs or "built?" when I added new exhaust and 6lb pulley went to sound matting. That an option? not cheap, but really quiets down the noise
Now that its "built" loud but bearable
    460K miles?

WOW THE Jon Kaase? Welcome to the site sir, pleasure having you here. Unfortunately I cant think of an aftermarket system or muffler that is near as quiet as the stock system. Typically folks are looking for louder. I would hit up your local Ford parts house and see if they have a line on a NOS HD exhaust system. I'm sure it will be costly though.

The original muffler was made by Gibson, you may have luck getting a replacement from them.

Almost nothing in the drivetrain and exhaust is the same from the non-supercharged trucks.
