harleytruck - he was not refering to mine, the kick azz AutoPC is $3500, and IMO a great price for everything you can do with it, PLUS its a completely custom setup..

My 9" is from www.ICONtv.org the only lcd brand i would ever buy.
They can be pretty damn expensive, but thats why they are one of the best.
Have not had a problem with any of my ICON's in the truck thus far.

As for install, its in no way a plug n play operation.. as i hope you could see. this project was very time consuming and took a lot of effort to complete the way i wanted.

    stay tuned for phase 2

Can you rig all that into a steering wheel control from a Blackwood?

And could you find a use for that hole in the dash under the steering wheel?

I have my Sony Laptop w/ DVD and burner on a ram mount mounted in a cup hole in the console so I have a 15" screen and a cassette adapter into my stereo. I use a thumb mouse while driving.

My console is wasted space I like your idea better. Can you fit A/C in there for cooling?
Sorry, i do not plan to make any of these.. too busy with my other projects.

I think depending on what setup you decide to go with, a PC or just a Video setup, filling that hole next to the steering wheel wouldnt be a problem.

Im completely in the dark on how to do a PC setup in the truck... hell im glad i can get my home PC to function! lol.
Your best bet would be to talk with AutoPC about their kit.

Not sure how much install was just for the screen, cause I did most of the system at once.....I figure it would be about $300-$400 for Labor

Im suprised at everyone that this thread went this far....

Autopc.... great system.... I know it well, it does some amazing things...

    Here are a couple tips...

1.) smart-a$$ comments like "...setting a laptop on a stand is very creative" dont lend well to acceptance around here.

2.) if you want to promote your product & sell it... step up & become a supporting vendor

I'm one of the gentler ones around here.... just thought I would share with ya...

    Be cool & play fair.
