thank you for the write-up on this. I was able to change my plugs and clean everything (which was beyond destroyed with oil). once done the truck seemed to run a lot smoother!

Missing a big step here ford has changed the torque specs on the 2 valve engines. The proper torque on the spark plugs are 25 foot pounds https://youtu.be/kc4-z-sT1ms

Not sure when the 3v engine was put into the f150 But ive got a 2002 and i trust that guy on you tube. Hes pretty awesome got me out of alot of jams

14-15 lb./ft. per Ford IIRC, re-torque periodically to prevent launching. My torque wrench shat the bed and I haven't replaced it yet so I've been using the good-n-tight method to torque/re-torque my plugs for the last few months.

Well i torqued mine to 25 foot pounds. I felt ok about that lol
