how to remove dealer decal
As much as I want to advertise for the dealer, cuz they gave me such a good deal, I was wondering if anyone knows how to remove the decal from the rear tailgate. It is the type that has double sticky tape on it and boy is it stuck on good? Any insight??

Normally, you would just pull, but since it is so cold up there, I would heat it up with a hair dryer, and then just pull it off.
Is the emblem metal or plastic?

Thanks for the quick reply. It is hard plastic. I tried to pull it off the other day and it started to rip the tape so I stopped, hopefully the warmer weather and the hair dryer will do the trick.

No big deal if it rips the backing, but try to heat it up some so you don't leave residue on the truck.

yup, goo-gone is some good stuff
if its too hard to peel off, get some masking tape, and tape around the emblem so you don't scratch the paint. then get some fishing line, and after you heat up the emblem some, then saw off the tape with the fishing line. After the emblem is off, then peel the tape off, and get some goo-gone to get the old adhesive off. After that wash the truck in that area to remove any goo-gone residue and throw a coat of wax or something on the naked paint

Rather then put any chemicals on your truck, use the hair dryer or a professional tape remover (basically a high powered hair dryer)
I have used the professional one to remove huge decals from the sides of boats that have been there for years. Incredibly easy when slightly heated.
