Keep up the good work . Looking great.

Today I got the carbon fiber prototype "installed". I'll do a how-to soon. It was fairly easy to do. (Although I had it done). It just took a few minutes to do. I learned a few tricks during the install. When I get the final ones done I'll remove the prototype and install the complete four door set. The funny part...the installer wants me to make him a set of four.
Yes, your votes got me to go with the carbon fiber.
Here's my thoughts... Unlike the courtesy light mod this one was simple and straight forward. No pulling door panels. No drilling holes etc.
Short version:
Pull up the OEM bottom door sill.
Run the two wires (into rectangle hole).
Connect the two wires. Per courtesy light thread.
Attach the illuminated door sill where you removed the OEM one.
Open door. Door sill lights are on with dome light.
Close door. Lights go off.

Let us know the price merlin, how about orange shield with blue light? I like the CF. Or maybe white shield and orange script,, many possibilities, LOL
I'm making a list of folks that are "interested".
Cutoff is one week. Here's how to get on the list.
Send me a PM with...
Subject: Illuminated Door Sills - username
Don't put requests in the PM. It's only for making a list.
I will PM you back instructions on how to register.
I don't have bottom line pricing yet. It depends?
When you register, I'll keep you posted on costs, eta etc.
There is no obligation. This is a "I'm interested" contact.
The amount of folks will determine fabrication costs.
Cut off date will be Oct 11 to send me your info.
If enough folks are interested I'll do one run.
I'll send out details to the folks on the list.
For those of you asking about cost...there are three separate Items to build these.
Item1 : Fixed cost whether it's 1 piece or 101 pieces, it's the same price.
Item2 : Fixed cost whether it's 1 piece or 101 pieces, it's the same price.
Item3 : I don't have a quote yet. IMHO This IS the Big Dog on the porch!
PM & Register ASAP, and hopefully I'll get the price quote by the end of this week.
The Item3 price will probably vary depending...
There's a certain amount of set up and labor for Item3.
If I do 1 set of four (front & rear) it will probably be expensive.
If I do 10 sets of four (or 2) this cost can be divided between all 10 sets.
When I get the how-many # I can use that # to get a quote and divide it.
That is why it's important to me to find out how many folks are interested.
I'll send an email to folks that are registered as interested & describe Item3.
Im interested but price is major interest. Is there a ballpark? $200, $500, $1000
just a FYI
I had a meeting with the person that has the ability to install Item3.
He is going to do my set on Friday. Still no cost yet.
He said "I'll do this set and let you know."
I'll keep you informed on my progress.
These look awesome and sounds like you are bringing a plan together for the guys interested. Kewl!

This will require a minimum of five folks for pricing.
If you're on the above list, I'll send you out an email.
There are a few new technologies I will tell you about.
One of them is spraying/coating the tops of the door sills.
Announcing!
Item3: - Immortal
A new self -healing polymer. To me this is a very important part of this project.
The door sills are prone to scratching unless they are the OEM black matte plastic.
The metal ones I had on my truck were custom silk screened and they look awful now.
Is Immortal indestructible? No, but it should keep your door sills looking good for many years.
Here's what the first set looks like...
Front - lighted
Rear - lighted
