I can tell you there are a shyt load of union carpenter jobs here. To the point t of looking at getting peeps from Arizona to New Mexico. Out side of that no clue. I can get u more info if that's the route you want to go. Hard hard work tho. And you might have to get someone to sign a letter saying they will hire you. Just to join Union.

Ok two things. One what kind of work have you done. And two, they were kinda vague at the union. They said it's best to come in. Here is the work list as of now. And she said they are in need of more apprentice carpenters than journeyman. But you need to go to union hall get a letter of subscription, find a job from this list and if they hire you then go back and say they hired you show the letter of subscription that you need the contractor to sign. Then pay what ever you need to pay. CASH. No more than $360( that's what it takes for a journeyman to join). Do your paperwork and your good to go. And as an apprentice you make a percentage of what a journeyman makes. I'm a JM and make $35.10 hr. That's light construction, heavy construction like bridges and water treatment plants make a few bucks more. The apprenticeship is 4 years from lvl 1 but since your military then you get a lil bump up in lvls. I think u start at 2, unless the contractor is willing to start u higher. There are 8 lvls and you go up every six months. or if you have your required work and class hrs you can jump sooner. Any more ?'s I will try to answer.

Each union has different rules so I can only answer that for the carpenter union. Yes there is OT but each job is different. For us after 8 hrs is time and half and after 12 is dbl time. Saturday is time and half unless it is a make up day. Sunday and holidays are always dbl time.
