I know this has been mentioned before. I tried to consolidate all the info I found into one place on NHTOC.
Here is the Lincoln Navigator/Ford Expedition/F150 HD - NAVI fuel filter mod.
You can purchase the NAPA (NAPA Part # 3296) version or the FORD (FORD Part # FG-872). I personally used the FORD part
Here's a picture of NAPA filer. Notice the size difference.
Here's a picture of the FORD filter and Ford bracket (FORD Part # YC3Z-9180-CA)
You may need to hunt around a bit for the Ford bracket (FORD Part # YC3Z-9180-CA)...but IMHO it's worth the effort.
Ford fuel filter
Remove the factory fuel filter bracket and filter:
Stock Fuel filter Bracket:
Cut the top stud off the new bracket. The factory only had one stud, two are more than enough:
Use a step bit to drill out this hole:
Use the bracket to mark the location for the back mounting stud and drill that hole:
If you use these holes you will have no clearance issue with the E brake bracket or cables:
Finished install:
Some folks just used a ZIP tie to mount the filter. It's easier and you don't need to hunt for the bracket. I prefer the Ford bracket method.
It's a cheap $25 mod. Thats for both the bracket and filter. Once you're under the truck it takes less than 15 minutes to do.
